For kids ages 6-11 years old. Kids will create an outer space art piece using a variety of materials and techniques.
For kids up to about 5 years of age. In addition to play group, kids will get to create their own puffy paint and then create as many planets in the solar system as they choose, similar to those by the Thimble and Twig blog.
For kids ages 8-11 years old. A little paint, a little glitter, and a little magic, and we'll have our very own galaxies in jars.
Located along the walkway in front of Linwood Elementary School.
Plan to spend some time outside on the walkways of Linwood Elementary School to experience the story It Looked Like Spilt Milk in a new way. A StoryWalk¢î is a fun way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. It will be available for you to visit at your leisure between Monday June 17th and Saturday June 29th. There will be an activity for you to complete and return to the library for a small prize.
The StoryWalk¢î Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk¢î is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
For kids ages 6-11 years old. Darth Vader? Yoda? Who will you fold into existence? We'll create the Star Wars universe of characters out of paper similar to those in the Origami Yoda book series.
For kids ages 8-11 years old. Kids will have the chance to build their own rockets and launch them off. More details to come on rocket specifics!
For kids up to about 5 years of age. Kids will get to make simple straw rockets and be able to shoot them off while also having fun during play group.
We will tune in to the International Space Station for a Story Time From Space¢í. Join us as we listen to Scott Kelly read his twin brother¡Çs book Mousetronaut and Serena Aunon-Chancellor read A Moon Of My Own. Kids will also enjoy snacking on astronaut snacks and making a rocket themed craft.
For kids 6-11 years old. We'll learn all about the phases of the moon using a tasty treat of Oreo cookies. Then kids will create a canvas bag featuring the phases of the moon.
For kids 8-11 years old. Kids will have the chance to learn more about the planets in our solar system plus work on a wearable craft: a beaded necklace made to look like our planets, similar to the craft on Ashley Hacksaw's blog.
Playgroup is targeted towards young children up to 5 years of age. It's a free form playgroup with games and activities. Kids can learn good socialization and play skills with other children and also get to know one another better.
Yoga: 10:30-10:50 am & Potluck: 11:00 am-12:00 pm
Bring your little ones and meet our yoga instructor Aly in the Children's Room for playful movement, breathing with awareness, and calming meditation. Stay for playtime and potluck.
Story time is targeted towards young children up to 5 years of age. Story time generally includes listening to a story, a craft or activity, and a snack.
